Privacy policy

General

This website does not use cookies or tracking. No personal data is collected during normal browsing.

Analytics

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as page views, referrers, geolocation, and device information. No cookies are used, no personal data or IP addresses are stored, and visitors are not tracked across sites or days. Visitor identification is based on a hash that is automatically discarded after 24 hours. See Vercel’s privacy policy and their analytics privacy documentation for details.

Newsletter

When you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is transmitted to and stored by Buttondown (Buttondown, LLC, Philadelphia, PA, USA). Buttondown acts as a data processor on my behalf.

Data collected: email address, timestamp of subscription, IP address (for spam prevention).

Purpose: sending newsletter emails when new content is published.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing via the link in every newsletter email.

Double opt-in: after submitting your email, you will receive a confirmation email. Your subscription only becomes active after you confirm.

International data transfer: Buttondown is based in the United States. The transfer is based on Buttondown’s compliance with appropriate safeguards under Art. 46 GDPR.

Retention: your email address is stored until you unsubscribe or I discontinue the newsletter. Upon unsubscription, your data will be deleted.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict processing, and port your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact me at the email address listed above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
